Instructions
Melt the Butter:
In a large saucepan over low heat, warm the butter until fully liquefied, stirring occasionally to avoid browning.
Add Marshmallows:
Gradually stir in the mini marshmallows. Continue stirring until everything melts into a smooth, gooey mixture. If using salt, sprinkle it in now.
Combine with Cereal:
Remove the pan from heat. Gently fold the crisped rice cereal into the marshmallow mixture until every piece is coated. If you’re feeling adventurous, toss in any optional add-ins, like sprinkles or chocolate chips.
Press Into a Dish:
Lightly coat a 9×13-inch dish with butter or cooking spray. Spoon the mixture in and press it down evenly. For an extra treat, press a few additional marshmallows or sprinkles on top.
Cool and Slice:
Allow the treats to cool for about 30 minutes. Once set, cut into squares or bars. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to three days.
