Ingredients

Brownie Batter

½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

⅓ cup (35 g) unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup (60 g) all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon salt

Mint Swirl Mixture

4 ounces (113 g) cream cheese, softened

⅓ cup (40 g) powdered sugar

½ teaspoon mint extract (start with a small amount and adjust to taste)

A few drops of green food coloring (optional)

Optional Toppings

½ cup mini chocolate chips

Chopped mint candies for garnish


Instructions

Preheat the Oven

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Combine the Brownie Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until fully incorporated.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until the batter is smooth.

Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Stir gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.

Prepare the Mint Swirl

In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until creamy.

Mix in the mint extract and green food coloring if you’re aiming for a festive hue. Adjust the mint flavor to your preference by adding a touch more extract if needed.

Assemble the Brownies

Pour most of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving about ¼ cup of the batter.

Dollop spoonfuls of the mint mixture over the brownie layer.

Drizzle or drop the reserved brownie batter on top.

Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the brownie batter and mint mixture together. This creates a marbled effect.

Bake

Slide the pan into the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking to maintain a fudgy texture.

Cool and Decorate

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes. If you used parchment, lift them out to cool completely on a wire rack.
