Spicy Chicken Patties

  • Author: Danielle
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 5 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

Juicy ground chicken seasoned with smoky paprika and a splash of hot sauce forms patties that cook up crispy outside, tender inside, and just spicy enough to keep everyone reaching for seconds. Perfect for busy weeknights, game‑day sliders, or a protein boost on salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken (about 93 percent lean)
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (use gluten‑free if needed)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (sriracha or favorite)
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil (canola or avocado) for cooking

Instructions

Mix It Up

  • In a large bowl combine ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, hot sauce, and all seasonings.
  • Stir gently until just blended. Over‑mixing can make the patties dense.

Shape

  • Divide mixture into 4–5 equal portions.
  • With damp hands, form each portion into a ½‑inch‑thick patty.
  • If the mixture feels sticky, chill for 10 minutes.

Sizzle

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Lay patties in the pan without crowding.
  • Cook 4–5 minutes, then flip once patties are golden.
  • Cook 4–5 minutes more, or until internal temperature reaches 165 °F.

Rest & Serve

  • Transfer patties to a plate lined with paper towel.
  • Rest 3 minutes so juices redistribute.
  • Serve on toasted buns, over rice bowls, or sliced on salads.

Notes

Heat Control: For milder patties, use 2 tsp hot sauce or swap in ketchup.

Freeze Ahead: Shape raw patties, freeze on a sheet tray, then store in freezer bags up to 2 months. Cook from frozen, adding 2 extra minutes per side.

Cheese‑Stuffed Twist: Press a ½‑inch cube of pepper jack into the center of each patty before shaping for a molten surprise.
